Council on Aging

COVID-19 Updates

The Beverly Senior Center is open for walk-ins and classes. View the most recent edition of our newsletter for current class offerings. Call us for more information: 978-921-6017.

The Council on Aging shall coordinate and conduct programs dealing with problems for the aging and promote facilities for the health, education, welfare and recreation of the aging.

Our Mission Statement

  • To create a friendly and safe community for Beverly seniors and their families by providing social services, transportation, education, health, recreation, and leisure time activities and resources that support their well being and independence.
  • To assist frail seniors by advocating for supportive services that increase their ability to remain independent.

The Senior Center is open to all seniors 60 and older, including seniors from neighboring towns. There is no membership fee to join, simply come in and fill out a registration form. There is something for everyone here. Staff members and volunteers are available to show you around, share a cup of coffee, and introduce you to some new friends.

Come and join us… we're looking forward to meeting you!

Transportation Service Updates

Staff and riders will be required to follow several new protocols. These are all to minimize the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Bus Tickets

Due to COVID, we ask riders to purchase a $10 or $20 bus ticket so that we may avoid the exchange of cash or making change. Each one way ride in Beverly remains $1 and each out of town medical appointment remains $4 each way (total of $8). You may purchase your bus ticket on the first day you ride with us.

Passenger Limits

We are able to transport a maximum of 3 passengers at a time per bus with one driver. Each rider will be asked a set of screening questions (i.e. have you traveled out of state, do you have a temperature etc., do you have symptoms of a cough or cold) before being allowed on the bus. Each rider will be required to wear a mask, and sit in bus seats assigned by the bus driver. Drivers will wipe down all surfaces after each ride and thoroughly disinfect each bus at the end of the work day. Appointments are still required, with 48 hours advance notice.
