HI. This is Mayor Mike Cahill with two updates. First, in a meeting held earlier this evening, the Beverly Board of Health voted to implement an indoor mask order in Beverly starting tomorrow and lasting for four weeks. Masks will be required for all individuals, including employees, regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor public spaces, whether publicly or privately owned. The Board’s complete order will be posted on the city website tomorrow morning. Thank you All in advance for your cooperation as we work together to slow the spread of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, keep our health care workers and their loved ones safe, keep our children in school and learning, keep our businesses open, and keep our critical public safety and other city services staffed and operational.
Second, a quick update on trash and recycling collection. At present, our hauler – JRM – is being further hit with COVID. They are about one half day behind in their trash and recycling pickup and will continue tomorrow to try to get caught up. So please continue to put your trash and recycling out on your regularly scheduled day.
As for Christmas trees, with tomorrow evening’s expected first snowfall of the season, everyone please bring your tree away from the curb and back into your yard. If your regular pickup day is on Tuesday – Friday, your tree pickup will be next week. You should plan to put your tree back out at the beginning of next week. If your regular trash and recycling pickup is on Monday, please stay tuned. By tomorrow evening, we will know whether JRM can pick up your trees on Saturday, or whether you’ll also need to wait until next week. Thank you, All. Please be well.
