The City of Beverly has installed eight electric vehicle charging stations at various municipal parking lots, Beverly High School and Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School. The Level 2 dual-port Charge Point electric vehicle charging stations are available at the following municipal parking lots: 9 Washington Street, 10 and 11 Pond Street and are accessible to the public 24 hours a day. The parking spots are for electric vehicle parking only. In addition, the electric vehicle charging stations are visible on electric vehicle apps such as PlugShare, ChargePoint and Charge Hub.
“We’re excited to install electric vehicle charging stations in the City of Beverly and to support our residents’ transition from gas-powered to hybrid and electric vehicles. The City parking lot charging stations will help draw visitors to support our local businesses. The charging stations at Beverly High School and Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School can be used by employees during the school hours and the public when school is not in session. Beverly Middle School has electric vehicle charging stations available as well. We hope to provide EV charging stations at Beverly Public Schools, as well as Lynch and Obear Parks in the near future,” said Mayor Michael Cahill.
